Prerequisite(s): 10416 (v.2) Survey Computations 185 or any previous version
AND
303147 (v.2) Advanced Mine Surveying 341 or any previous version
Syllabus: The unit includes two components: A research of a topic selected by a student (individual project) and ; The surface and underground mine survey involving: lease boundary survey, EDM and GPS traversing, levelling, surface and underground details surveys, shaft plumbing, underground bearing check using a gyro-theodolite and stope survey. The office work includes: survey design, calculations associated with the above surveys, preparation of plans, sections and survey reports. Regular reporting on work progress and attendance of project seminars is required.
