Introduction

This is a rapidly growing area which offers a variety of career paths. By introducing students to the principles of management as well as their applications to the tourism, hospitality and event sector, this major provides students with the relevant knowledge and skills to become effective managers in these closely related sectors in Australia and overseas. Students will for instance study contemporary issues in international tourism, discuss the sustainable management of tourism, hospitality and events in theory and practice, learn about the wider impacts of tourism, hospitality and events on the local and global economy and also the role of marketing in these sectors.
