312666 v.1 Accounting and Financial Planning Double Major

Introduction

This double major is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of, and competencies in, accounting and financial planning. It covers the fields of auditing, taxation, business law and financial management. This major meets the educational requirements of CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and equips graduates for professional accounting or financial planning careers in commerce, industry, government or public practice. It is recognised as being acceptable for Associate membership of CPA Australia and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) and entry to the ICAA graduate program as well as being accredited by the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA). Graduates will be RG 146 compliant and are eligible for associate membership (AFPA) after the relevant work experience requirements are met.
