Practical: 1 x 2 Hours Weekly
Syllabus: Laboratory practice: biological specimens, requesting and interpreting laboratory tests, accuracy and precision, and quality assurance. Instrumentation: photometry, microscopy. Haematology: structure, function and morphology of blood components; cell counting; structure and function of haemoglobin, platelets and reticulocytes; erythrocyte sedimentation rate and red blood cell indices; blood counts and haematological diseases. Biochemistry: biomolecules, amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates and lipids.
