Syllabus: This unit covers techniques for effective written and oral technical communication, preparation of scientific reports and supervised group-project proposal generation. An introduction to software engineering project management using the personal and teamsoftware processes. Emphasis is placed on record keeping and the analysis of historical data to produce effective project plans based on reasonable estimates. Setting measurable goals for assessing personal contribution to group-based software development activities and determining project status. Adhering to commitments and schedules using an earned-value approach to project management. An examination of the roles of the team leader, planning manager, development manager, quality process manager, and the support manager in effective software project management.
