Syllabus: The dental team, roles, responsibilities and requirements. Clinic preparation, infection control, occupational health issues. Introduction to patient assessment, records. Clinical decision making. Minimum intervention concepts. Instruments and instrumentation. Plaque control and removal. Fluoride and other remineralising agents, sealants. Moisture control. Direct restorative materials. Restorative dentistry - introduction to cavity preparation design principles, techniques, and restoration of prepared cavities. Laboratory practice in oral health therapy procedures.
