Syllabus:	This unit introduces students to the basics of electricity, magnetism, optics and modern physics. Basic static electricity includes electric field, electric potential, electric currents and DC circuits. Magnetism includes magnetic field and electromagnetic induction. Optics includes geometric optics and the wave nature of light. Modern physics includes early quantum theory, models of the atom, quantum mechanics of atoms, molecules and solids.
