Syllabus: Concept of health. Ecological framework of the curriculum. Reflection. Essence of self: value system, examining own beliefs, understand what affects own thinking and behaviour, how it affects the decision making process. Nursing communication (theory). Understanding of self & developing self. Ethical principles: autonomy, beneficence, non-malficence, justice. Confidentiality and obtaining consent. The development of nursing knowledge. Nursing practice bases: philosophical /conceptual, evidence & regulatory. Foundations of nursing practice.
