Syllabus: The challenges of energy demand and supply; major energy uses in contemporary national economies; the energy scenario and foreseeable changes in the prevailing energy scenario; energy costs and penalties; technologies for energy production, conversion, storage, delivery and recovery; sustainable energy sources, systems and their usage in various sectors of the economy; generation, storage and distribution of solar energy, wind energy, bio- fuels, geothermal power, wave- motion power, hydrogen energy; energy management and planning; energy conservation practices and technologies; case studies in energy system selection, energy management and conservation;
