Syllabus: This unit introduces students to basic concepts, models, theories and methodologies relevant to the study and analysis of mass media and communication in their social contexts. A range of media - including print, television and the Internet - will be examined to provide a comparative overview of critical approaches used in studying contemporary forms of mass media and communication.
