Syllabus: Part 1: urban water engineering; water distribution system planning and design. Water distribution system operation and maintenance (introduction). Wastewater collection system planning and design. Wastewater collection system operation, and maintenance (introduction). Part 2: water resources engineering; hydraulic structures: dams, weirs, spillways, culverts, stilting basins. Other issues: sediment transport in rivers, stratification in lakes and reservoirs, and sea water intrusion in coastal areas.
