The major also provides an insight into the social frameworks, political structures and religions of Japanese culture. To successfully complete this major, students are required to complete two core units, six optional units, and eight Japanese language units. Students commence with Japanese 111 (Beginners), Japanese 211 (Pre-intermediate), Japanese 311 (Intermediate), or Japanese 321 (Advanced) depending on their communicative ability using all skills, and after consultation with the Japanese teaching staff.
