Syllabus: Physico-chemical streams: Physico-chemical properties of solids, comminution of solids, powder mixing. Formulation and manufacturing stream: Pharmaceutical compounding, pharmaceutical flavouring agents, pharmaceutical solutions; filtration, pharmaceutical packaging, powder formulations, dermatological preparations, preparation of galenicals. Biopharmaceutics/Drug Delivery stream: factors affecting routes of administration. Pharmaceutical practice stream: metrology, pharmaceutical Latin, posology, introduction toxicology, dispensing compounded pharmaceuticals, laws and regulations requirements relating to labelling and containers for pharmaceuticals.
