Syllabus:	The focus of this unit is on understanding the nature and impact of chronic illness. Syllabus includes: Chronic disease emergence, epidemiology; health determinants; chronic illness trajectory; chronic illness across the lifespan; impact of chronic illness on person, society and health services; international and national responses to chronic disease; health policy; dilemmas associated with chronic condition care models; interface between primary and speciality care in chronic illness; primary health disease management strategies and prevention.
