Courses Handbook 2010

311107 v.1 History Major

Introduction

This major enables students to examine the development of social, political, cultural and economic forces, noting how such developments shape society over time. Particular attention is paid to Australia, selected overseas societies, ideas and research methods. More generally, students are encouraged to examine how history shapes the way they think.

Major combinations within the BA

Students choosing this major within the Bachelor of Arts degree will also choose another or an elective stream. Choosing a second major allows students to study in an additional discipline area. Choosing an elective stream allows students to undertake further study in the discipline of their first major or choose from a variety of units from around the University. Combinations of majors are listed in the handbook at http://handbook.curtin.edu.au/courses/31/311921.html.
