Syllabus: Approaches to the discovery of drugs. Quantitative structure-activity relationships. Impurity profiles. Mechanisms by which drugs degrade. Introduction to nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Analysis of drugs in therapeutic formulations and biological fluids. Concepts of quality assurance.
