Syllabus: Safety and productivity accounting. Access, layout and design. Unit operations and mine services. Coal mining - methods, methane drainage, subsidence and percentage extraction. Mining methods - cut and fill, shrinkage, longhole stoping, vertical crater retreat, sub level caving, block caving and hard rock narrow width tabular mining methods. Groundwater control, backfill and dilution. Field trips.
