Syllabus: Introduction to renewable energy sources. Quantification of solar and wind energy sites. Photo-voltaic energy conversion. Maximum power point tracking. Principles of wind energy conversion. Modelling and simulation of photo-voltaic (PV) and wind energy generators. PV applications: grid connected and solar home systems. System sizing. Economics of renewable energy systems. Case studies of renewable energy systems.
