Syllabus: Body defence: infectious diseases, infection relevant to maternal, neonatal and paediatric physiology. Homeostasis: fluid and electrolyte balance. Mobility: congenital and acquired dysfunction. Metabolism/nutrition physiology of breast feeding. Elimination: obstruction, malabsorption. Oxygenation: common childhood diseases. Maternal and neonatal physiology: physiology of pregnancy, adaptations and the neonate. Reproduction: infective states, fertility, men's health and hormonal imbalance.
