Syllabus: Family structure and function. Family assessment. Mental health issues relating to child birth. Legal and bioethical issues and accountability. Human sexuality and family planning. Reproductive issues. Family resources. World Health Organisation (WHO) standards related to family health. Effects of illness and hospitalisation. Domestic violence and elder abuse. Alcohol and drug abuse. Gender health issues. Impact on families of substance misuse, chronic illness, disability and rehabilitation.
