Syllabus: Further development of communicative competence in the Chinese language through collaborative and self-directed learning activities. Students acquire skills in handling short written texts on topics relating to contemporary Chinese society. They are encouraged to express opinions, conduct discussions and present reports on topics covered in this semester. Current research on modern Chinese history is also introduced for discussion.
