Syllabus: This unit comprises a practicum placement, which is normally completed by the commencement of the unit, and a coursework component to assist students to contextualise some of the background to information and issues facing information professionals in today's information/knowledge society. Issues covered include: what is information? information value, methods of managing information, information and professional ethics, and information policy.
