Prerequisite(s): 8127 (v.6) Advanced Calculus 201 or any previous version
Syllabus: Complex analysis: functions of a complex variable, analytic functions, Cauchy's Theorem and Cauchy's Integral Theorem, Taylor and Laurent series, and the Residue Theorem. The Laplace transform and inverse Laplace transform: operational properties, use insolving differential equations, convolution, and solution of some integrodifferential equations. Sturm-Liouville systems: orthogonal function (generalised Fourier series) expansions, special functions including Bessel and modified Bessel functions, Legendre polynomials, and the Green's function method.
