Introduction

This course will focus on the major issues confronting public sector organisations such as the structure of government, policy design and analysis, critical management issues and the law of government. The course is designed to address key public sector issues through critical reflection, theoretical perspectives and practical methods.

Course Entry Requirements

A bachelor degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution or work experience in a senior public sector managerial role. Applicants with other relevant qualifications and/or experience may be considered for admission.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Applicants will not normally receive recognition of prior learning for core units within the program except where the specific core units have been undertaken within the specified institutional timeframe either separately or within one of the postgraduate public administration courses.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study. Some units are available in the evening.

Course Organisation

Students study at least two core units, marked with an asterisk (50 credits) and optional units. All units are subject to availability.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
