Introduction

This double degree in Communication and Cultural Studies and Social Science combines study in a major of: Creative Writing; Cultural Studies; Literary and Cultural Studies; Performance Studies, Professional Writing and Publishing with study in a major of: Anthropology; Geography; History; Politics and International Relations; or Sociology. This double degree is highly flexible, allowing students to undertake a highly tailored program that will allow them to develop excellent communication and problem solving skills.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

TEE English or English Literature, minimum scaled mark of 60 is desirable.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis and may be given for studies successfully completed in the relevant area at approved institutions.

Duration and Availability

This course is four years full-time or equivalent part-time study and is available in semester one and semester two each year.

Course Organisation

Students undertake the one of the following: Creative Writing, Literary and Cultural Studies, Performance Studies, Professional Writing and Publishing Major in combination with the Anthropology, Geography, History, Politics and Sociology Major. Students enrolled in the double degree program may elect to transfer to a single degree in one of the two areas. In this event, the relevant Head of Department shall determine the amount of credit to be transferred to the single degree.

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
