Syllabus:

Elasticity and the structure of solids. Shear forces and Poisson's Ratio. Fluid flow. Thermal radiation and Planck theory. The nucleus and radioactivity. Compton effect. Photoelectric effect. Radiation and fission. Equivalent circuits. Capacitive and inductive circuits and their phase relationships with reference to electrical and EM surveying. Phasor diagrams. Resonant circuits. Series and parallel circuits. 'J' notation and calculations in LCR circuits. Filtering and field applications. Transients in LR, CR circuits, AC measurements and field surveys.
