Syllabus:

Introduction to clinical research, managing clinical databases, evaluating change in performance, reliability and validity of clinical measures and presentation of data. Clinical versus statistical significance and prediction of outcomes. Diagnosis and testing clinical hypotheses. Biomechanics - body composition, centre of gravity, levers and patient handling techniques. Soft tissue manipulation. Electricity - safety, electrical fields, Ohm's law, resistance/impedance, alternating current/direct current (AC/DC) currents, depolarisation, rectification current types (interferential/high voltage), wave energy and ultrasound principles, inverse square law, cosine law and electromagnetic radiation.
