Introduction

This major is designed for those from diverse backgrounds seeking to develop an advanced understanding of social policy and practice. It provides an opportunity to explore theoretical approaches to the study of social policy and the skills to analyse andparticipate in policy making in a wide range of settings. While the major is designed as generic in its framework, it draws on special areas of expertise and it explores content from comparative and global perspective. This allows the development or advancement of knowledge, and practice skills in an area of specialisation. On completion of this major students are encouraged to undertake further study to complete the Master of Arts (Social Policy).
