Introduction

The Major in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is of value to students expecting to work in the field of Teaching English as Second Language (TESL), Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), or in other areas dealing with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds in Australia or the Asia-Pacific region. To successfully complete this major students are required to complete 9 core units and 3 optional units. At least 2 of the optional units should be language unitsin one language.
