Syllabus:

Government and politics of Japan. An examination of the basic rules and patterns of politics and policy making in post - World War II Japan. Unit topics: state building, the US occupation, political culture, political parties and representation, the Liberal Democratic Party, policy making and public policy, political economy and foreign policy, plus a major research paper.
