Syllabus:

An introduction to the rapidly growing field of professional communication studies. Exploration of the networks of meaning which must be negotiated and managed by those working as communicators in both the public and private sectors. Through a range of practical tasks, an introduction to key understandings underpinning all professional communication - the characteristics of effective message production and reception, the importance of an understanding of the cultural contexts in which professional communication takes place.
