Syllabus:	Students will examine representations of gender and sexuality of race, class and nation to produce individual identities and social subjects. On successful completion of this unit students will understand concepts of gender and sexuality and be able to apply them to the analysis of a range of texts. They will understand that gender and sexuality are not categories, are historically and culturally relative and are theoretical entities rather than inherent, natural or essential qualities.
