Syllabus: Sustainability is the leading paradigm that links the global public and private sector agendas for international economic and social development with those of conservation of natural resources and protection of the environment. An examination of the global sustainable development challenges in - population, wealth, nutrition and health, natural capital, and technology and markets, each with special consideration of the implications of these global sustainable development challenges for the current patterns of production and consumption. Reviews trends in global economy and society, and impact on the prospects of achieving sustainability. Development of the policy and business cases and agendas for sustainable development. Illustrated with findings fromthe development of global sustainability scenarios and the results of example assessments of sector-specific and national principal sustainable development issues.
