Syllabus: Gate arrays, FPGAs, and related devices. RTL models of complex digital systems. HDL coding of RTL systems. Programming styles. Re-use, library creation. The need for rule checking. Simulation, functional, RTL and gate level. DFT insertion. RTL synthesis. Timing analysis. Designing with cores. Introduction to co-design. Implementing designs. Creating a SoC.
