307646 v.1 Mathematics Specialisation Stream (Security Technology)

Introduction

This stream provides Security Technology graduates with both a general security and sensor technology background and specialist mathematics knowledge and skills. These graduates will be in a position to provide specialist mathematical related security advice to organisations and/or undertake research in security related areas such as - data management and statistics, risk analysis and risk minimisation system, and process optimisation, and cryptography. The students will also be aware of the large range of sensor technologies and the political, ethical and legal implications of security issues. Students interested in security and applied mathematics will find this stream challenging, interesting and rewarding. Students who achieve good marks will have the opportunity to progress to a higher degree in mathematics or security technology.
