Introduction

This course develops originality and independence of thought and trains students in research. It is the preferred route for students proceeding with a higher degree. Additionally, it broadens knowledge and provides exposure to the latest developments in biomedical research thereby enhancing employment prospects.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Refer to Admission into Honours Degree Programs and Regulations for Honours Degrees in the General Information section of the Curtin Courses Handbook. Only students with outstanding performance in undergraduate studies will be considered for entry to the honours program. Students intending to apply for entry must have achieved a minimum course weighted average of at least 65 per cent or higher, although some courses require at least 70 per cent or higher. Candidates should inform the course coordinator of an intention to apply for entry to the honours program prior to or immediately after the conclusion of undergraduate study.

Course Organisation

This course is a supervised research program involving preparation and submission of a literature review and a substantial research thesis, seminar presentations relevant to research and/or other selected materials.
