Introduction
This double degree course equips students to work in a professional capacity in both technical and business areas of the mining and energy industries through a strategic alliance between the Western Australian School of Mines and the Curtin Business School. In the engineering degree, students major in minerals engineering, and in the commerce degree in finance.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
TEE Applicable Mathematics and Calculus. Physics is also required for the Mining Engineering or Mining Geology streams; alternatively Chemistry is required for Minerals Engineering. Well performed applicants without all prerequisites may still be considered.

Specific Requirements
STAT elements considered are E and either V or Q.

Note
In certain cases, the need to complete special units may result in an extension of studies beyond the normal length of the course.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability
This course is of five years full-time or equivalent part-time study. The first four years, which focus primarily on engineering, are conducted at the Western Australian School of Mines (Bentley and Kalgoorlie) and the final year is conducted on the Bentley campus by the Curtin Business School.

Course Organisation
