302022 v.2 Graduate Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain

Introduction
This course has been designed for professional supply chain and logistics specialists who are interested in developing careers in Supply Chain and Logistics. Areas of study relate to logistics knowledge systems nationally and globally. It includes transportation, physical distribution, procurement, purchasing, location analysis, manufacturing, warehousing, inventory, retailing and electronic linkages with government and private industries. It will meet the needs of those with logistics, distribution or transportation management or supervisory skills with or without a first degree. Many of these practitioners have numerous years of experience and do not have a formal education in logistics. The course also forms the first eight units of the Master of Commerce (Logistics Management).

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
Entry into this course is limited to applicants with either a relevant degree from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent and relevant work experience in logistics and supply chain areas, a minimum of five years logistics industry experience inmanagement or supervisory positions, or a Graduate Certificate of Logistics and Supply Chain, at a satisfactory level. Applicants will also be required to fulfil the criteria specified for mature age entry, with entry subject to approval by the Program Manager or the Head of School of Information Systems.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability
This fee paying course is of two semesters full-time equivalent part-time study.

Intermediate Awards
A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awards section under General Information.

Professional Recognition
Graduates are eligible for membership with the Chartered Institute of Transportation and the Logistics Association of Australia (Western Australia).

Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
