Syllabus: Bulk material handling systems in mining and mineral industries. Bin, hopper and feeder design. Flow characteristics of materials. Conveying and conveyors. Belt selection and monitoring. Stockpiling and reclaiming systems. Mine rail transport. Pumps for slurry transport. Pump selection. Pneumatic conveying systems. Mine hoist and winders. Materials handling instrumentation.
