Introduction

This is a distance education online course providing the necessary knowledge and skills to practice competently as a perioperative nurse at the novice to expert level.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A registered nurse working in the operating suite with an undergraduate degree. Other qualifications and significant work experience are considered. Applicants must be currently registered in their own country and provide documentation to that effect. Overseas applicants are required to have completed a tertiary nursing program of three years or more leading to registration.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is of two semesters part-time study. As the units are offered only once in each year, there is some limitation of choice. This course is not available to international onshore students on student visas.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
