301156 v.3 Sport Management and Commercial Law Double Major

Introduction

This double major provides students with the opportunity to acquire both a sound understanding of the sport industry and the skills and knowledge required to pursue a career in sport management. The degree is unique amongst Australian Universities as it is the only sport management degree offered by a School of Business Law in Australia, reflecting the increased influence of law in the day to day operation of sport organisations. Students will study core business units alongside core sport units that contain numerous practical sport business examples from a great range of national and international sport organisations at amateur, professional and Olympic levels. Commercial law provides students with a foundation knowledge in general commercial law in areas including management, corporations and employment issues. This knowledge can of course be applied to issues in the sport industry.
