Syllabus: Provides advanced knowledge of female growth and development relevant to physiotherapy. Includes advanced knowledge of exercise for women at different life stages. Also includes advanced knowledge of physiotherapy interventions during the childbearing year. Introduces sexual dysfunction, vaginal pain/vaginismus and vulvar vestibulitis. Also covers breast conditions including breast cancer, lymphoedema management and gynaecological conditions including vaginal prolapse. Provides for the development of advanced clinical skills in physiotherapy management post breast surgery and gynaecological surgery. Includes advanced knowledge of osteoporosis and menopausal changes and how this is relevant to physiotherapy interventions.
