Syllabus: Development of the foundation competencies for physiotherapy practice. The philosophy of evidence based practice is outlined with practical skills developed in acquiring, evaluating and using evidence. Also covered are other aspects of professional practice with special emphasis on the social context of disability. Basic patient care skills such as patient handling, soft tissue manipulation and passive movements are covered. Case presentations are used to integrate student learning.
