Syllabus: Laboratory and clinical practice in dental hygienist procedures. Patient assessment, treatment planning, prevention and treatment methods for periodontal diseases. Post-treatment care, desensitising agents. Record keeping, appointment scheduling. Local analgesia. Dental radiography - intraoral, lateral oblique and panoramic radiographs. Additional practical/clinical hours conducted outside of normal semester hours
