Introduction

This coures enables students to enhance their knowledge and skills in international health. Students study a combination of units which are based on current knowledge and practice in international health. These units relate to the acquisition of knowledge and skills for the planning, management and delivery of appropriate health programs and services throughout the world. Upon successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma, students will have the option of admission to the Master of International Health.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Applicants must have a bachelor degree or equivalent and relevant work experience for entry to the Postgraduate Diploma program. Selection will be based on academic background, work experience and referee reports. The applicant will provide a completed Application for Admission and Enrolment forms, a curriculum vitae including relevant work experience and names and contact details of two professional referees, certified copy of academic qualification(s), a brief statement of specific interests in international health (maximum 250 words) and acceptable evidence of English proficiency (international applicants only).

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of prior learning may be awarded to suitably qualified applicants who have work experience in relevant areas or have successfully completed relevant postgraduate units.

Duration and Availability

The fee paying course is two semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. The program is also offered by distance education. Part-time and/or distance education study is only available to Australian resident students and international students studying outside Australia.

A student who has successfully completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award, may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate awards approved for this course appear below.
