Syllabus: Sensor types and operational principles. Review range of sensors. Discuss operational principles. Advantages and disadvantages. Sensor design, cost, construction and systems, choices of sensors. Manufacturing issues. System wide approach. Application of sensor technologies and systems in security situations. Integrating technologies. Data fusion. Case study in application of technology (technical details). Practical, legal and ethical issues. Commercial realities. Risk assessment. Working with professional from other fields. Regulations and requirements. Case studies and project work (practical implementation).
