Syllabus: Focus on the key technological infrastructure of the Internet, telecommunications systems, specialised computing hardware and the software applications and their relationship to broader economic dimensions. Looking at concepts such as the 'attention' economy and the new knowledge economy, students study the commercial structures that underpin Internet technological development and their impact on social formations and political directions.
