Syllabus: Introduction to the latest techniques being used to identify micro-organisms and study their transmission and spread. It includes DNA and RNA isolation, electrophoretic methods, cloning methods, sequencing, hybridisation, subtractive hybridisation, differential display, polymerase chain reactions and proteomics.
