Syllabus: Safety and productivity accounting. Access, layout and design. Unit operations and mine services. Coal mining - methods, methane drainage, subsidence, percentage extraction. Mining methods - cut and fill, shrinkage, longhole stoping, vertical crater retreat, sub level caving, block caving, hard rock narrow width tabular mining methods. Ground water control, backfill and dilution. Field trips.
