Syllabus: Selected topics from major features of physical oceanography. Generation, propagation and measurement of ocean waves. Mechanisms of tide generation. Measurement and prediction of tides. Large scale and coastal currents. Characteristics of sea water and disposal of waste in ocean waters. Remote sensing of the ocean.
